Introduction To Computers And Information Systems
This is an excellent introductory work on the workings of
an information system from both the computer software and
hardware perspectives. The authors discuss the CPU, operating
systems, programming languages, file characteristics and
performance evaluation factors for computer systems and software.
There is an extensive section on the systems methodology,
analysis, design and post implementation review. A brief section
on project management provides a prelude as to how to manage
a real time systems project. Advanced systems are discussed
in detail. i.e. telecommunications, software, files, recovery,
time-sharing and a whole host of other areas. There is an
extensive glossary to explain basic definitions. The work is
recommended for beginning and intermediate system analysts
and designers. It is easy to read and reasonably priced.
